Tenure-Track Position, University of Florida
The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Florida College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Malcom Randall VA Brain Rehabilitation Research Center has established a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor as part of the Translational Rehabilitation Research Initiative (TRRI) between the two institutions. The successful candidate will be expected to develop translational and basic science research programs investigating neurorehabilitation. Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates with ongoing programs in experimental models reflecting multidisciplinary approaches to identify mechanisms of motor system plasticity and regenerative neurobiology. It is expected that the candidate will develop strong collaborations with clinical investigators in the existing and well-funded Brain Rehabilitation Research Center of the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. The new appointee will be expected to establish extramurally funded research programs and to teach in neuroscience-related graduate and medical courses in the College of Medicine. Minimum requirements include a doctorate or medical degree in a relevant discipline, eligibility for employment at the VA with a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience. A competitive salary and start-up package will be offered. Salaries are negotiable and commensurate with experience.
