The current goals of my research program are to map the routes of signal transmission responsible for the control of appetite and reproduction. Our investigations include the identification of novel neurotransmitters, their site and mode of action, and the control of their synthesis and release by peripheral signals. We also are studying the molecular mechanisms in the etiology of eating disorders(anorexia nervosa ) and obesity-dependent diabetes and infertility .
